Right-click the .QBW.adr file and select Rename to delete the adr extension present at the end of the file, followed by opening QuickBooks.  • Next, open the company file that is saved on your QBTEST by using your account register to verify all transactions, and if issues are found, run the QuickBooks Verify Data Utility.  • Go to the File menu and hit the Utilities option to select the Verify Data option, and move the damaged company file to a different folder. • As a final step for the QuickBooks file recovery tool, transfer the copy from QBTEST to the original location and run it to check if the file is correctly retrieved.
