Switch Design Application: Plugs and Receptacles, Control stations and control panels 2 poles and 4 poles with 80% of common parts Status: 3D models are done for body , cover, mechanism 2D drawings to be sent early June to procurement for cost estimate, Capex estimate and list of preferred vendors Solid sample planed for June 15th by MATERIALISE Belgium or cheaper if found Cams Design (mechanical and electrical) OK for Power switch application as Receptacles Cams Design under study for selector switch application as Control station, (reminder roughly 150 diagrams) • Important point regarding design schedule • The first application of the 16 Amp switch will • be the New range of control stations: • Replacing Stahl: Cost reduction • 2) Replacing BARTEC : helping the transition • plan

  4. develop receptacle housing and cover for 16 amp and 32 amp product. • Menekes box : • - not strong enough, • - problems of Antistatic raw material, • problems of shrinkage • Too big / too expensive for 16 Amp ( 70% of sales) Competitor analysis: 2 to 3 sizes to stick to 16 and 32 Amps Looks more solid and really are STAHL: complicated design, lot of components CEAG: cover and box in polyester less components, good mechanical and chemical resistance, similar to ATX current range STAHL CEAG

  5. 16A AND 32A CASINGS Current ATX product But New Design will be same principle, sizes variations + internal fitting for interlock mechanism and switch and external knob Box and cover similar to CEAG allows preliminary cost calculation And CAPEX estimate Next step: EDEC to make 3D model based on ATX sketch but front part cannot be done before we will choose a solution regarding the receptacles Cover Box Switch Receptacle

Strategy for plugs and receptacles Before entering inside the analysis of different solutions What have to be done to design a range of interlocked plugs and receptacles IEC / ATEX certified 1) - Design plugs and receptacles following IEC 309-1 = 70 molds non including Interlock mechanism, boxes and switches (Total is close to 100) 2) - Take in account IEC 309-2 = very strong dimensional request need numerous molds adjustments 3) - Design interlock mechanism valid for every sizes and every number of poles 4)- Set up a solution to reject Industrial plugs but compatible with Stahl even If we don’t make advertising of this due to LCIE position 5) - When everything done, which is far more than manufacturers of Industrial Plugs and Receptacles do 6) - Start the specific part to comply with IEC and ATEX : Ageing, impact, Watt dissipation ( 30% stronger regulation than Industrial standard), anti-static IP 66 / 67,… Need we do not underestimate the experience requested and the resources to involve in the design process , in the testing procedure and in the molds tracking To get things happen

Open discussion to choose options • OPTION A : Mennekes + ATX Plugs/receptacles interlock and Universal • OPTION B : 100% ATX : see previous chart • OPTION C : Chinese vendor instead of Mennekes ( visit of Chinese vendor June 10 with APPO) • OPTION D : Mennekes focused on interlock , no intermatability (reduce the CAPEX), ATX Boxes ( reduce the cost particulary for 16 Amp receptacles which has been the economical tricky point) • OPTION E : Other Vendor to be identified by Procurment (we have to built a list of criteria to evaluate how this could work better than Mennekes or Chinese vendor) • Next chart : Pros and Cons of each of A, B and C options
