  2. The majority of people today are living in homes with smaller spaces. It is not their choice but they have to, for they cannot afford bigger homes with larger utility and maintenance costs. Due to this interior decorations are being set aside, they do not want to add things in their homes because it can make it look smaller. Well, their problem is solved for they are ways on how they can make their homes look bigger just by following these simple ways.

  3. •Use light or neutral color for the walls As light color can make a room look bigger and much brighter. Walls painted with light colors are reflective like mirrors. It can make any space airy, spacious, calm and serene. The ideal color choices are off-white, green and blue. Home with this wall colors are more pleasing to the eyes which make the guests and homeowners stay and relax.

  4. •Make use of natural light to open up space. Because when we allow natural light to pass through our small space, it can create an illusion that our room is large. For those homes with greater access to sunlight, they should consider having larger windows as it instantly connects the home to the outdoor ambiance. If the outdoor view is not pleasant to the eyes, put some flowers or plants near the window as a great contrast to the outside view.

  5. •Add on a built in shelves This is a great piece to replace bulky cabinets and shelves. Because built in shelves and cabinets can help us gain more storage space and still maintain floor space. In addition to that, homes with built-in closets and shelves are mostly commended as their homes look really tidy and neat.

  6. •Make use of mirror illusion Like light colored paints, mirrors can also make any room look bigger when placed in a perfect angle. For best results, experts like Joshua Steinberg would advise to use a focal point, then angles the mirror facing that focal point to provide an illusion of depth. Aside to that, mirrors can easily reflect both natural and artificial light to make any room look bigger during day or night.

  7. •Clear a pathway on every room In making a room look large, we should maximize the space by pushing all the bulky pieces to the edge just make sure that people can pass through freely without bumping into anything. If this is the concern, regroup the objects to be placed on one side of the room.
