Solving Systems of Inequalities: 3 - 4
• You will simply be graphing two inequalities on the same graph.
• The solution will be a section of the graph, not a point.
Solving Systems of Inequalities
• PWS 3-4 (on ibooks)
• Graph the inequalities y + 1 < -x and y ≥ 1.
• The solution is the section of overlap.
Solving Systems of Inequalities
• To graph a system of inequalities using the calculator, just plug in the two inequalities and graph. Make sure you use the correct inequality for each one. (Type, F6, F1-F4)
Solving Systems of Inequalities
• From your two inequalities, you should get a region of the graph that is double shaded. (you may want to use different colors or means of shading for each inequality)
Solving Systems of Inequalities
• This region is your solution.
• What does this mean?
• Any point in this double-shaded region would solve BOTH equations!!!
