Chile Octubre2012 InterventionModeltopromoteyouth within a disastercontext Título APPROACH AND INNOVATION • Design of an intervention program specifically focused on adolescents and young people in a context with tight public supply for that group of the population • Focus design, content, funding decisions in diagnosis and requirements identified collectively by young people • Support contributions of young people to their communities to strengthen their ties and identification • Integrate capital and psychological approaches in contexts of crisis MONTH/ YEAR

Chile Octubre2012 InterventionModeltopromoteyouth within a disastercontext Título LESSONS LEARNT TO SHARE • Need to generate interventions specifically aimed at young people in situations of crisis or natural disasters. They are usually forgotten by public policies that place emphasis on populations most vulnerable (children, elderly, sick, etc.) • Requires a long term permanent interventions in a community working to design collective projects, otherwise individual will dominate • Disaffection with political institutions and democratic regime is very deep among poor youth, requires urgent intervention of the State in this matter.
