  4. 540 individual modules:18 azimuthal sectors-supermodulesEach supermodule contains: 5 detector stacks of 6 module layers each Each detector module consists of a radiator and readout chamber. Markouizos p. 4 Introduction: ALICE TRD TRD The readout chamber contains a conversion and drift gas volume and a wire amplification region with cathode pad readout.

Description • We have designed a Master/Slave power supply distribution system to provide the required anode and drift voltageto the ALICE TRD readout chambers. • The system will be used to switch on and off, monitor (on the nA level), protect, and regulate (leverage of 1000 Volts) from a common ceiling voltage

Markouizos p. 12 Control Software: PVSS Introduction Upper level control is attainable through PVSSPVSS is a SCADA* software, and is used for control of all ALICE subsystems Special Control Panels have been developed for each Structural unit of the HDVS (channel, card, module) Gives access to system settings at channel level Allows massive control of all the HVDS channels *Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition
