  1. STUDY IN USA

  2. Columbus had no idea when he had erroneously discovered a vast forest land in 1492, would one day become the most affluent and powerful nation of the world. The United States, superfluous to say, is one of the superpowers that impact world’s economy, politics, science, technology and what not!

  3. USA continues to charm students from around the globe, be it for reasons like Hollywood or top universities such as Harvard to study in. It is the destination to realize their passions, whereas for some it is a gateway to enhance their didactic learning through hands on experience.

  4. Why Study In USA? USA is not only the favorite study destination of students for its academic excellence, but also for the diversity of programs it offers. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and the academic institutions in USA emphasize learning through practice and hands on experience. The innovation driven assignments and projects right from the UG level cater to ignite bright minds.

  5. Possibly, this is why USA has been successful in producing highest number of inventions and eminent researchers in the world. America is chosen by undergraduates because of the excellent scholarship opportunities and the flexibility to combine their courses. Graduate aspirants, on the other hand, prefer to study in USA for quality of Grad degrees and increase in their potential.

  6. How much it will cost? Fees – The Tuition fees to study in USA is of a wide range. US Universities/ Colleges may cost you as low as USD 10,000 to more than USD 80,000 per year. However, USD 15,000-20,000 per annum is a general range expected for most of the “state Universities”.

  7. Living Costs - The living costs in USA may vary according to the location where one lives and of course, his style of living. One must be ready for an average of USD 10,000 per annum as living expenses. You can find more information on other expenses on students finance.

  8. Process to Apply Application - A student desiring to apply to top universities in USA needs to prepare at least a year in advance as most Universities have stipulated deadlines, thereby making the whole process time bound.

  9. Along with the test preparation the application process also entails the critical hurdle of deciding on the most suitable and affordable universities. After which comes the task of arranging the application documents such as transcripts, essays, test scores, CVs, recommendations and financials etc. Typically for undergraduate courses universities require SAT scores, for Post Graduate or Master’s degree in USA they require GRE, GMAT scores. For ‘English proficiency’ for both PG and UG admission in USA, TOEFL is accepted by All institutes however now IELTS I also accepted by many Universities.

  10. Visa - A United States visa, according to the US visa Consultants, can be both the easiest and the toughest task for a student- and both for the same reason- that a student appears for a short interview of duration of 90 seconds to 3 minutes and gets his decision at the same time. The interviewer may pose a range of questions within this short span of time and a student needs to be prepared to deliver smart and cogent answers and convince a visa officer of his genuineness for travelling to USA for studies. Decision on approval or rejection is expected pretty much there itself during the interview.

  11. Accommodation Information On Campus: The options of living in residence halls or dormitories (also called “dorms”) are provided to students by almost all universities in USA. Usually, these are for single students, not for married couples or families, and are situated on or close to the campus.

  12. Students may get a kitchen in some dorms for those who would rather cook for themselves. Usually, dormitories have common rooms where students can get together to watch television, play games, or simply be with friends. To keep an eye on safety and cleanliness, and to make sure the rules are observed the Supervisors, often called "residence advisers" or "resident directors," often live in dormitories. Students share their rooms with one or more roommates in most of the rooms in dormitories. Usually, dormitory rooms do not have a private bath or toilet. Instead, residents share large "community" bathrooms, which are separate for men and women.

  13. Annual Cost: USD 12,000 - USD 15,000 (Housing + utilities), sometimes lesser for regional based universities

  14. Off Campus: Apartments or Private Housing: A student needs to look for a housing off- campus if he/she doesn’t find accommodation in university dormitories. Furnished and unfurnished apartments and houses, privately operated dormitories, cooperative residence halls, and rented rooms in private homes are some of the types of accommodation. Annual Cost: USD 7,000 – USD 10,000 (Housing + utilities)

  15. Off-Campus Dormitories : Privately owned dormitory complexes can sometimes be found near campus. These are run like university dormitories, but privately owned, designated for the students.

  16. Temporary Accommodation: Initially, one can choose hotels, hostels or motels to stay close to the campus for temporary period, costs of such accommodation on single occupancy varies from USD 50 – USD 150 per night. Map your accommodation SEARCH NOW.
