Twitter Lingo • “Tweet”=to post a status update. • “# or hashtag”= Post before a relevant keyword or phrase (no spaces) in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter Search. • “@ or handle”= The @ sign is used to call out usernames in Tweets, like this: Hello @Twitter! When a username is preceded by the @ sign, it becomes a link to a Twitter profile. See also Replies and Mentions. Read more about replies and mentions.

  4. “Lurk”=read and follow a twitter feed, without posting. Like “Facebook Stalking”

  5. NISD Mobile App • Access your child’s grades, lunch account and more! • Receive updates from Mrs. McNeese about school news.

  6. Gradebook • HAC letters with log-in information will be coming home this week. Be on the lookout! • Remember to log-in to the HAC. • Email alerts do not allow access to teacher comments about individual assignments or students. The email alerts only send grade averages. • Visit the office if you encounter issues with the HAC.

  7. NetSchool • Used in fourth and fifth grade to prepare for MS and HS. • You may view any teacher’s page, but can not enroll unless you are a student. • Full of resources to aid in learning at home. • moodle.nisdtx.org

  8. Free iTunes APP. • Use pictures and text to share information. • Students use the iPad camera to take photos. • Upload into PicCollage. • Add text boxes with information. • Change background or add stickers. • Used in K-5 grade

  16. Sock Puppets • Free iTunes APP. • Students can record their voice and the “scrub” it or turn it into a puppet voice. • Used to help review topics or tell stories.

  17. Wordle • Free website. • www.wordle.com • Students are able to type in a variety of words or phrases. • The website then arranges the words. • Students may change color or themes to their liking.
