What is Social Enterprise? • a broad term that refers to the sector that results from overlap between the non-profit and business sectors • recognizing a social problem and using entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change • working with and through the non-profit, for-profit, and government sectors • whereas traditional enterprises typically measure performance in profit and return, social enterprises target financial, social and environmental performance SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BUSINESS NON-PROFIT
What do we do? 1. Create a dialogue on campus about social entrepreneurship 2. Provide practical engagements for students 3. Diversify the post-Brown career path
