Energy and Environmental Technologies Information Centres : CADDET • CADDET is a source of information on technologies, markets, barriers and other factors that affect the global supply and use of energy in a climate-friendly and cost-effective way. • CADDET Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

CADDET • Based on Demonstration Projects: First full scale use, testing technology and economics • InfoStores, hub of website (Regularly updated): • 1700 Energy Efficiency Projects (Buildings, Industry, Transport, Cogeneration) • 700 Renewable Energy Projects (Wind, Biomass, PV, Waste etc) • Technical Brochures on selected InfoStore entries • InfoPoints: Quarterly Newsletters

Energy and Environmental Technologies Information Centres : GREENTIE • GREENTIE is an international network of teams in 26 countries dedicated to promoting the free exchange of information on clean energy technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. • Based on information about suppliers of Greenhouse Gas mitigating technology and services (energy efficiency, renewable energy, power generation, clean coal, fuel cells, etc)

New Partnership • EETIC proposes to provide Energy content for UNEP/GEF Sustainable Alternatives Network (SANet) • Information leading to investments in Sustainable Alternatives through general information and guidance/Decision Support Facility • Memorandum of Understanding signed at COP7 (General co-operation to explore content exchange)

Link to SANet • Initial testing of link ongoing • CADDET/GREENTIE will provide: • WIN-WIN case studies (6 already) • links to relevant web sites (RETScreen, ISES, Global Power Directory, etc) • proposal to identify and train partners in Decision Support Facility and local Help Desks • marketing assistance

  11. Conclusion • CADDET and GREENTIE are major sources of information on technologies and suppliers, with many support features useful to Chinese decision-makers • Link to SANet is a WIN-WIN opportunity for both organisations and for users
