  1. Attendance Policy SGA Secretary Travis Miyashiro

  2. Policy in Full • Each representative can represent in a maximum of two capacities. • Each club representative is expected to attend every SGA meeting. • Upon receiving three or more recorded absences, that club will be considered unregistered.

  3. Capacities to Represent • Club Representative • At-Large Representative • Executive Board • You may only represent in two of any of these capacities • Each person only receives one vote, even if they represent in multiple capacities.

  4. Specific Note At any Senate meeting except this (the first) one, you cannot vote if your club has not been re-registered. Make sure your club is re-registered before casting votes at any other Senate meeting.

  5. Signing In • An Attendance Sheet will be placed at the start of each SGA meeting • Please print your name below where it is listed, then initialin the box. If you are not your usual SGA rep, please write your actual name anyways. • The sheet will also be available to sign after the Senate meeting is over. However, I ask that you sign it before Senate starts if at all possible.

  6. Absences • An absence is when the recorded SGA rep is not present at a SGA Senate Meeting. An absence is considered unexcused unless specially excused by the Secretary. • After each unexcused absence, an email will be sent to you (the representative) and your club president indicating that you have missed a meeting and how many more absences you have until loss of position and funding. • After three (3) total unexcused absences, the club will be considered unregistered (no longer recognized by SGA) pending investigation by the Executive Board.

  7. Absences, cont. • If you expect to be absent to an SGA meeting, please email the SGA Secretary (SGAsecretary@mail.goucher.edu) by Tuesday, 11:59 PM the night before. The Secretary may be willing to excuse this absence depending on the reason or circumstances provided. • If you are a club rep., you may elect to have someone else attend SGA in your place. If you must do this, email the SGA Secretary by Tuesday, 11:59 PM the night before indicating the name of the person attending SGA in your place. Also note that this person cannot vote in your place. If you do this, you will not receive an absence. You may do this once per semester. Any other times you do this will count as absences (unless very special circumstances, see above).
