Comprehensive Reprocessing of AMON Hybrid IGS Reference Data: Enhancements and Challenges

DESCRIPTION

This study outlines the reprocessing of AMON Hybrid IGS05 and IGS08 reference data with minimal gaps and extensive geographical coverage, incorporating additional EPN stations like GOPE and TUBO. Utilizing Bernese Software 5.0, we generated reliable time series from 2006 back to 1998. Addressing issues such as antenna height consistency and individual calibration challenges, our results revealed significant improvements in height accuracy, with many stations aligning closely with the AMON solution of 2011. Furthermore, new discrepancies related to snow coverage and equipment persist.

  3. AMON Site Handling Bernese Software 5.0 (BSW) Orbits + ERP reprocessed IGS05 Reference coordinates + velocities IGS08 Using BEV logsheets Same strategyas in EPN analysis Daily results Weeklyresults separate run Startingwithyear 2006, back to 1998 – firstrun Keepingoldsitenames (e.g. TRFB insteadof TRF2) Problem ofantennaheightconsistencylogsheet – STA-file of BSW

  4. Detected Problems • Not yet all BEV logsheetsincludedinto STA-files – inconsistencies • Overlappingtimes in BEV logsheets (e.g. BLEI-BLE2) and different antennaheights • Individual antennacalibrations not alwaysapplied (dummyantennanumbers in STA-file, not 5 digits in RINEX files, semi-automaticpreprocessingneedsmanualinterferenceandisconsuming human time) • Not all problemsvanish (equipment, snow), somenewappear, same experienceas in EPN repro1 • Strange EPN site TUBO (constant 5-10 cm differenceto a priori IGS08)

  5. First Results • Processing time 1 day = 1 hour • StartingwithJanuary 1st 2006, presentlyabout 50 days • Total of 80 stations • About 5 stationswith large (>5 cm) differences, 3 EPN sites (JOZE-snow?, MOPI-snow?, TUBO?) • About 5 stationswith moderate (2 cm) differences, antennacalibrationorantenna type mismatch? • 70 stationscoincidewithin 10 mm into AMON solutionof 2011!!! • Significantlyimprovedsolution (height)
