Who we are

The Cookie Collective LLP is a partnership of web development companies, formed to help companies understand and comply with the cookie law.

We collect and publish data about cookies and their uses

We develop practical compliance solutions for website owners.

slide3

What is the Law?

A site cannot store or gain access to information stored, in the terminal equipment of a subscriber or user, unless they have been given information about the purposes of the storage, and they have given their consent.

There is an exception where the storage or access is strictly necessary for the provision of a service requested by the user.

It is more that just cookies, but this is the current focus of attention.

slide4

Why do we have it?

  • More and more data is being collected about people on the web.
  • This is being used and aggregated in ever more sophisticated ways.
  • The law is designed to ensure consumers are aware this and give them the choice whether or not to allow it.
slide5

What needs to be done?

  • The ICO makes 3 core recommendations:
  • Audit your website to find out what cookies you have.
  • Inform your visitors about your use of cookies.
  • Get Consent for their continued use.

Introducing

the simple opt-in privacy solution.

A managed compliance service from

slide7

Audit, Manage, Comply

Optanonis a managed software service that combines a simple cookie auditor tool with an advanced compliance management service that makes your website cookie legal.

Developed with guidance from privacy lawyers and the Information Commissioner’s Office, Optanon defines your compliance risk under EU cookie law and creates a customised opt-in overlay for your website that means you’re covered.

For an annual license fee from just £295 +VAT for most websites, Optanon is the simplest way to make your site cookie legal for 2012.

slide8

Self Audit

Optanon Audit is a plug-in for Google Chrome that makes our compliance service so easy to set-up.

Simply download and install the plug-in and surf every page in your website. Optanon Audit tracks and identifies all the cookies your website deploys on visitors’ browsers and sends that data to our customer team to configure your compliance notice.

We can provide you with the raw data to self-audit, or our team will analyse it and make recommendations for how to comply

Optanon Audit continuously monitors your site for new cookies, and the system automatically alerts you to update your compliance notice to make sure you stay cookie legal.

slide9

Pro Audit

For large sites and businesses with more complex compliance needswe provide a full professional audit service.

We will assess the intrusiveness of your cookies, based on what they may be used for and who has access to the data.

We advise which need consent and which are exempted.

And we will provide guidance on a range of suitable strategies for consent compliance, aligned to your business needs and the user journey.

All in a detailed written report.

slide10

Manage

OnceOptanon Audit has identified all the cookies on your site, our customer service team configures your compliance notice.

Within 5 days our customer service team will send you a preview of your compliance notice, and the script for your site. Once you’re happy, insert the code and your site is cookie legal.

Your compliance notice can be cutomised to add your logo and match your site font and colours, so that opting-in is as seamless as possible for your visitors.

Launching May 2012: We’ll give you log-in access to your own management dashboard so your in-house team can manage your compliance notice direct, 24/7.

slide11

Comply

Optanon adds a cookie opt-in bar to your website, for strict regulation compliance.

Optanon alsocomes with Multi-Touch Consent, building visitor consent into the user journey.

Once the user clicks ‘allow’ it’s business as usual*

slide12

Comply

Optanon also offers an implied consent approach.

This assumes visitors are opted-in to cookies but provides selective controls to opt-out of non-essential types of cookies.

As part of our ongoing product development we are continually adding more features and options.

All interfaces can be re-skinned to match organisational branding
