  2. Fraction to Decimal • The fraction bar means divide. • 3/8 says "three divided by eight." • Divide the 3 by the 8

  3. Example: • Change to a decimal • Save the whole number “5” • Work only with the ¾. • Divide 3 by 4. • Then put the five back in position. 5.75.

  4. Decimal to Fraction • Read the number • Write it as a fraction • Reduce.

  5. Example: • Change 0.25 to a fraction. • 0.25 is read “twenty five hundredths.” • 25/100= 1/4

  6. Example: • 3.45 • Save the 3. • Read .45 as forty-five hundredths. • Write . • Reduce to . • The result is 3 9/20.
