Action Plan Guidelines • This is your working document • What do you want to accomplish • Who is going to do what • When is it going to get done • What resources did you see this week that you’d like to adapt for use • What resources do you need for you plan • Tell us what helped you most; what’s missing, what needs improvement • As you work, post your Action Plan on the Ed Academy Community so that others may observe your work • Save your presentation on this USB Memory Stick. • Please Title and name the file, identifying your location • Do not write or save over the template, keep it for reference. • A report out of accomplishments is due Nov. 15 • Work with your Intel Education Manager to submit • Note: sample completed Action Plans from 2008 are on the website http://www.intel.com/education/isef/isef/overview.htm

  3. High Level Goals • What do you want to accomplish for your school, region or country? Look at long term goals (3-5 years) and short term (1-2 years) • Long term goals • Implement science inquiry in secondary schools. Change the ways teachers teach & students learn & research science. • Institutionalize management of science fairs and science programs for primary and secondary schools • Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by 50% within 3 years • Short term goals • Establish a bank of mentors to assist students • Start a new fair • Improve scientific review and judging

Objectives • How will you know you succeeded?: • Schools, students (about 20k) participation in affiliated increases 50% over a three-year period. • Volunteers/mentors increases 15% during the 2009-2012 school year. • Systemic curriculum changes underway; 50% teachers trained in Project Based Learning. Make the Science research a formal activities of the school year. • MOE & Local DOET to reserve a certain amount of US$ to support the Science research and involve other agancies to donate $$$. • Improved the quality of projects

Intel ISEF Educator Academy • The 2009 Ed Academy was very well & professionally organized with new change. • The Community Website is a great resources for new country to learn from experienced countries. • The Intel Chairman met with the Ed Academy official group showed Intel commitment to education and sciences. • Well selected experienced presenters • The Shoptalks subjects covered are relevant & useful for Vietnam team to improve the Science Fair. • Good chances to learn the real work done by other countries saw the actual atmosphere of the students works & compared with other countries’.
