  1. A Plan For Raising children to be Joyous Christians

  2. Raising Children as Joyous Christians • Help them know the Lord is the CREATOR of all (Rev.4:9-11, Col. 1:15-16) • Help them know the Lord is their SAVIOUR from sin (Col. 1:13-14, Luke 2:10-11) • Help them know the Lord is their HIGH PRIEST (Heb. 2:17-18, 4:15,16) • Help them know the Lord is the PRESENTER of the crown of eternal life (2 Tim. 4:8, I Pet. 5:4)

  3. What’s Happening… • Creator • Saviour • High Priest • Presenter – Crown of Life • Accountability • Deliverance from Sin • Comforter • Hope

  4. What’s Happening… • Scriptural Joy! • Joy of knowing that our CREATOR provides (Acts 14:17, I Tim. 6:17) • Joy of being saved from our sins by our SAVIOUR (I Pet. 1:8-9, Acts 16:30-34, Lk. 15, Phil. 1:18) • Joy of being helped by our HIGH PRIEST– Prayer (Phil. 4:4-7, I Pet. 5:6-7) • Joy of future reward in Heaven with our Lord – PRESENTER (Rom. 15:13, Jude 24-25, Matt. 5:11-12, I Pet. 4:12-14)

  5. HELPS AVOID THE PITFALLS… • Rejoicing in the Lord helps distinguish true joy from “pleasures of the world” (I Tim. 6:17-19, Lk. 8:14) • Rejoicing in the Lord keeps us from giving in to a “myth” : doctrinal controversy will kill Christian joy (Phil. 3:1-2, Jude 3, 24-25) • Rejoicing in the Lord reminds us the Lord wants us to be stedfast in the faith, not weak (Acts 2:42, 2 Cor. 1:24, Phil. 1:25, Gal. 1:23, 2 Tim. 4:1-4)
