  2. What is procrastination In laymen's terms procrastination is simply putting off something you have to do until the very last minute There are 6 stages of procrastination

  3. The 6 stages of procrastination

  4. 1. False security • Usually occurs right after the assignment has been assigned • The person seems to think they have a lot more time than they actually do • Soon the assignment takes backseat

  5. 2. Laziness • Thinking you have ample time to waste will eventually leads to laziness • Not only is the person not doing their assignment because they think they have more time but now it’s a matter of simply “not feeling like it” • Self motivation is non existent

  6. 3. Excuses • In this stage one would find random excuses as to why they can’t do the assignment • Excuses like “I’m on facebook right now” or “This text has to be sent today” • The procrastinator has a sense of urgency on everything else but the assignment due

  7. 4. Denial • The procrastinator sees the due date closing in but still convinces themselves they have time • They continue to put the assignment off

  8. 5.Crisis • Usually occurs the night before or the day that the assignment is due • As the procrastinator begins to work on the assignment they realize the amount of work involved and begin to think they will not finish • Ultimately the procrastinator finishes all or most of the assignment but the quality of work is lacking

  9. 6. repeat • Most procrastinators are habitual procrastinators • They will continue to go through the same cycle and may never learn their lesson.

  10. Graph ☺

  11. Procrastination affects • Procrastination leads to stress which can have very negative affects on your overall health • In the long run procrastinators have much lower grades • Procrastinators have financial issues, not paying bills on time or filing taxes • Less likely to keep a job • IT PAYS NOT TO PROCRASTINATE
