  3. Similarity in Names Both are believed to be sons of God, since they were divinely conceived The birth of both Jesus of Nazareth and Krishna of Dwarka and their God-designed missions were foretold

  4. BIRTH OF CHRIST Both were born at unusual places — Christ in a lowly manger and Krishna in a prison cell. Both men were born of virgins . Angel Gabriel coming to Mary and saying her that she will be conceived purely. Birth of Christ in a stable.

  5. BIRTH OF KRISHNA Vishnu appeared to Devaki - Vasudev and told that he will be born as their child in a divine manner

  6. Similarity in Birth Krishna's birth occurs while his foster father, Nanda, is in his native city to pay taxes to the king, King Kansa. Jesus' birth occurs while his foster father, Joseph, is in his native city to pay taxes to the Governor.

  7. An evil king tried to kill Krishna and Christ when they were both infants.

King Herod tried to kill Christ King Herod was afraid by listening to the glory of the infant Christ through the three wise men and asked them to find out the boy so that he also would worship him. His real intention was to kill that boy. But, as the three wise men did not return back, he gave a command throughout his kingdom that all male babies two years old and under should be put to death in Bethlehem and all its districts. Meanwhile, an angel appeared to Mary and Joseph and advised them to take Christ and go to Egypt. - As per the Three wise men story from the Bible

  10. Vasudev is warned by an angel to flee from King Kansa by crossing the Jumna River with the infant Krishna. Joseph is warned in a dream to flee from King Herod into Egypt with the infant Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

  11. To protect the infant Jesus, Joseph and Mary took him to Maturai, Egypt. To protect the infant Krishna, Vasudev took him to Mathura, India.

  12. Jesus is the second person of the Christian Trinity: (1) God, the Father, (2) Jesus the Son, (3) the Holy Ghost. Krishna is the second person of the Hindu Trinity: (1) Brahma, (2) Vishnu, (3) Siva. Krishna is the incarnation of Vishnu.

  13. Christ is often depicted as a shepherd Krishna was a cowherd

  14. Similarity in teachings The teachings of both are very similar — both emphasize love and peace

  15. Similarity in Death Both died of wounds caused by sharp weapons — Christ by nails and Krishna by an arrow
