Central Processing Unit • The Central processing unit (cpu) acts as the brain of the computer • The CPU carries out thousands of commands and orders • These orders are the basis of all programs • There are many components of a CPU which include; the control unit, the arithmitic unit, the decoding unit and much more

  3. Memory For the cpu to execute instructions data must be loaded into a memory base. • Memory stores digital codes, pictures, arithmetic and other kind of data we use in our everyday life. • There are to forms of memory storage • 1.The RAM • 2.The Harddrive

  4. The Ram • The Ram is also known as the active memory • The Ram is the faster way of data storage • When are Documents are stored in the harddrive and then opened they are then stored in the Ram

Peripherals • A peripheral is any type of hardware that could be plugged into a host computer • Some common peripherals include a mouse, keyboard, and printers • Peripherals are most commonly used as a way to for people to interface with the computer • A major social issues with peripherals is that some peripherals such as handheld can infect a computer or a network of computers.

  6. Maintenance • Computer maintenance is a very important aspect to the lifespan of the computer • A good way to keep your computer healthy is to delete all of your old files and programs • There are many virus protection programs available for your computer these re very useful to prevent your computer from becoming infected

  7. Storage • Computer storage has evolved vastly • Computers storage used to use bulky cd-roms and has evolved to using flash drives • Some advantages of using flash drives to cd-roms is that flash drives are not as easily damaged and can also be carried around more easily
