About Self-Registration As of September 2014, patrons may apply for a PINES library card through the PINES web site at: http://gapines.org After a patron fills in the form, he or she must visit the library to show proof of ID and complete the registration process in order to pick up the new card.

  3. Self-Registration Library Card Application Form Library users will click on the ‘Apply for a PINES Library Card’ link on the PINES catalog home page.

  4. Self-Registration Patron completes the form. Patron submits the form.

  5. Self-Registration Patron Visits the Library to Complete After submitting the form, the patron will have two weeks (14 days) to visit the library to complete the application process before the application expires. The patron must bring proof of ID (following standard PINES policy).

  6. Self-Registration Library Staff Instructions When a patron comes to the library to complete his or her registration form, the library staff member will: Open the list of pending patron applications. Search to make sure the patron does not already have an account. Complete the patron registration to issue the card. Print the completed form and collect signatures.

  8. Self-Registration View the list of pending applications The Home Library will default to your local branch, but you may change to a different branch if the patron indicates that they chose a different one when filling out the form.

  9. Self-Registration Search to Prevent Duplicates Open a new tab and search for the patron to be sure he or she does not already have an account.

  10. Self-Registration Avoid Duplicate Accounts If another account is already present, update the existing account and delete the pending application from the Pending Patrons Screen.

  11. Self-Registration Open the patron registration form After confirming that the patron does not already have an account, return to the Pending Patrons screen and double-click on the patron’s name to open the form.

  12. Self-Registration Complete the patron registration form Fill out the complete registration form as you normally would. Confirm that the information the patron entered matches the ID and address provided. Replace with Barcode

  13. Self-Registration Print the form for signature Click the Print Page button on the Patron Registration screen to print a copy of the form to normal (not receipt) paper. The patron should sign this paper and you should initial and date it so that you may store it with the other forms that were filled out by hand.
