  2. OMEGA Tracer

  3. Introduction The OMEGA Tracer System allows practitioners to create prosthetic and orthotic devices electronically instead of with plaster

  4. Capabilities Patient Data Recording Shape Capture • Component Selection & Ordering • Shape Modification • Production

  5. Shape Capture/Creation Options OMEGA ScannerHand-held laser scanner that can capture prosthetic and orthotic shapes. Tracer PenThe shape of the limb is traced directly from the patient. By MeasurementFor basic AK & orthotic shapes, the patient’s measurements can be applied to a “template” in the software.

  6. Office The shape-capture devices are PORTABLEand can easilybe used at a variety of locations! Nursing Facility Patient Home Hospital

  7. OMEGA Scanner Capable of scanning directly over skin, sock, liner, plaster, or foam Able to scan complex and intricateor detailed shapes and surfaces Can pause and resume scanningduring the scanning session Can merge two scans to create a single shape

  8. Scanner Applications Orthotic • Insole • AFO • Cranial • Knee • Spinal Prosthetic Below Knee Above Knee Below Elbow Above Elbow Breast

  9. Below Knee Examples

  10. Above Knee Example

  11. Below Elbow Applications Accommodates various levels of amputation for Below Elbow as well as Wrist Disarticulation patients Skin-fit suction sockets DESIGN liners

  12. Above Elbow Applications Accommodates various levels of amputation for the Above Elbow, as well as Elbow and Shoulder Disarticulations DESIGN liners

  13. Custom Breast Prostheses Scans of the intact breast and surgical site are taken and merged into a single shape in the software Order form is completed within Tracer and is sent to a WillowWood fabrication partner with the shape file for fabrication

  14. WillowWood Partners

  15. Insoles • Scan of foam impression Direct scan of foot

  16. AFOs • Scan the inner surface of 2 halves of a negative model • Scan the limb with the footin a foam impression box Scan the outer surface of a negative model

  17. Cranial Applications • Cranial remolding helmet • Must be sent to an FDA-approved manufacturing site • Protective helmet • Not a regulated medical device

  18. Knee Braces Knee shapes can be captured using the OMEGA Scanner and sent to the desired manufacturer for brace fabrication

  19. Spinals Scan the patient directly or scan a cast of the patient

  20. Spinal Scanning Options • 1-part scan • Then create a mirror image for the other half • 2-part scan • Scan right and left halves, or anterior and posterior halves • Software merges the 2 scans into a single model

  21. Shape Modification OMEGATracer’s software tools allow the prosthetist to make modifications on the computer screen that would normally take much longer with plaster. These tools provide precise control over a full range of adjustments such as volume, contour, flexion, and much more. Shapes are saved within OMEGA Tracer – no need to store bulky plaster models on the shelf.

  22. Modification Wizards • You may use individual tools from a menu, or you may use a wizard • A wizard is a group of specific tools that occurs in a set order • You may change the order of the wizard pages if you wish

  23. The software maintains a complete record of modifications made to each shape

  24. Fabrication Options Files can be sent to a in-house carver or to an outside fabrication facility. The OMEGA Carver is fully integrated with OMEGA Tracer and can accommodate BK, AK, AFO, and spinal shapes.

  25. Where Is OMEGA? Outside the US: 77 facilities - Australia - Netherlands - Canada - New Zealand - Finland - Norway - Germany - Puerto Rico - Holland - Saudi Arabia - Hungary - South Africa - India - Sweden - Ireland - Switzerland - Lebanon - United Kingdom - Mexico + 4 C-Fabs Inside the US: 358 facilities 21 C-Fabs 58 carvers around the world: - Australia - Mexico - Canada - New Zealand - Finland - Puerto Rico - Germany - South Africa - Holland - Sweden - Hungary - United Kingdom - India - United States 35 government hospitals around the world

  26. Alpha DESIGN Liner

  27. Alpha DESIGN Liner • You can create custom liners for your patients!

  28. Who Can Benefit?

  29. Example Adjust the amount and location of gel thinning behind the knee on BK liners

  30. Example • Ideal for patients who experience bunching of the liner when they sit Helpful for patients with shorter residual limbs

  31. Three Options • Use the OMEGA Tracer System • Send a cast or a non-Tracer shape file • Use “Web Assist”

  32. Using OMEGA Tracer • Capture shape electronically • Use software wizard to control the thickness and location of gel

  33. Submitting a Cast or File • Send a model of the patient’s limb • We’ll make some basic adjustmentsto the gel pattern

  34. When To Use When you do not have access to OMEGA Tracer When you do not need to provide input regarding precise modifications

  35. Submitting a Cast Mark the cast according to the directions on the form Send the completed form and cast to WillowWood

  36. Submitting a non-OMEGA Tracer File • Acceptable files • .aop • .stl • Submit file and completed order form to aopfiles@owwco.com

  37. Order Form Available from willowwoodco.com Order Form should be completely filled out to avoid delays and additional fees

  38. Using Web Assist WillowWood Your office • A “hybrid” of the other two methods: • Send a model of the patient’s limb; we’ll import it into OMEGA Tracer • Consult with us via a web site to design the liner that the patient needs

  39. Using Web Assist To request a web assist, check this box on the order form
