  1. Collegiate Seminar Do Now (15):Read the eulogy created for Steve Jobs. Annotate the passage for events that describe the personality of Steve Jobs. Is he kind? Ambitious? Angry? Loving? Write down characteristics of his personality. Annotate evidence in the eulogy.

  2. Team List (10) • What three words would best describe Steve Jobs. Explain the events of his life that led you to believe this. (5) • Share out. (5)

  3. Your List (10) • Take 2 minutes to write down three words that you want to use to describe your ideal self. Explain what you will do in order for these words to accurately fit you. (2) • Table discussion (2). • Class share (6)

  4. Your Story (20) • Imagine that you have lived a long, and prosperous life. Someone who knew you very well has volunteered to write and deliver your eulogy. Create this for yourself and distinctly outline three different events in your adult life. Each event should link to a word that you want to be remembered by…OR…write one story (of your adulthood) that embodies all three characteristics for which you want to be remembered.

  5. Reflection (11) • Switch seats and sit next to someone you don’t know. (1) • Have your partner read the story to you (5) • As your partner reads the story, listen and write down words that you feel would describe them. When you are done, see if the author’s words match yours. • Switch roles (5)

  6. Class Share-Outs (9) How do you want to be remembered? What will you do that exemplifies this? Deductive Reasoning: How can you start to create your ideal person in college? How does your GPA, ACT and extra curricular activities relate to this? How can you begin to construct your ideal person RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW?
