  2. Franklin helped us in the grate depression • After nearly a decade of optimism and prosperity the united states was thrown into despeir on black Tuesday, October 29th, 1929, the day the stock market crashed and the official beginning of the Great Depression.

  3. Hear are some pictures of the Great Depression.

  4. Franklin D. Roosevelt was in world war two. • His motto was the only thing we fear is fear itself.

  5. No one wanted war. Yet, when Germany attacked Poland on September 1, 1939, other European countries felt they had to act. The result was six long years of World War II. Many people have wondered why Germany was allowed to take over both Austria and Czechoslovakia without a fight. The simple reason is that Great Britain and France did not want to repeat the bloodshed of World War I. They believed, wrongly as it turned out, they could avoid another world war by appeasing Hitler with a few concessions (such as Austria and Czechoslovakia). At this time, Great Britain and France did not understood that Hitler's goal of land acquisition was much, much larger than any one country.

  6. Franklin was diagnosed with polio in 1921.

  7. When Franklin got polio he was at the age of 39, it inspired his interest in medical philanthropy. In public he walked with the aid of leg braces and crutches. In private, he often used a wheelchair yet he didn’t let this slow him down.

  8. On April 1, 1945 Franklin D. Roosevelt died • When Roosevelt died everybody missed him for what he did to help there lives.
