  4. About Cyprus CYPRUS, located in the Mediterranean, is just a short flight away from anywhere in Europe (about 2-3 hours from central Europe), and has seen in recent years a huge explosion in tourism . With its 2 international airports, any part of Cyprus can be reached in less than a couple of hours drive, and the major upgrade of the roads and motorways in Cyprus makes travel a pleasure - traffic congestion is rare. The popular tourist resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa are less than a 45 minute drive away from Larnaca Airport, and the Capital city of Cyprus, Nicosia, can be reached by car from these areas within one hour. The Capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, and the trading centre, Limassol, have seen huge expansion both in terms of trade and flourishing 'society life' - bars, restaurants, theatres, leisure facilities and shops have grown to meet the ever increasing consumer demand. Away from the commercial centers, Cyprus offers unparalleled coastlines - miles and miles of unspoilt coastline, the majestic Mount Olympus in the Troodos mountain range, historical sites and innumerable places of interest to visit. Add to this a year round climate which offers fantastic summer sun, a mild winter in which people still hold regular outdoor barbeques, and an opportunity for people of all ages to participate in a wide range of year round activities, from walking, skiing, climbing and cycling, through to water sports, extreme sports, sailing and simply relaxing and taking life easy. During the summer months, the popular holiday resorts of PROTARAS, AYIA NAPA, LARNACA,LIMASSOL and PAFOS really come alive, with a pace of life to suit all, from those who wish to escape from it all, or for those who wish to party until the early hours. A chance to spend days out cruising on boats along the coastline, eat traditional foods at many of the picturesque harbours - the choice really is endless, and with so much variety, it really does require years to fully appreciate the warmth and friendliness that makes Cyprus a fantastic place to live and visit.

  5. Seasons in Cyprus SPRING TIME (February-April) In springtime the island of Cyprus takes on an enchanting beauty. The countryside is set ablaze as glorious wild flowers and flagrant blossoms burst into life to delight the eye with their stunning colours. In fact with over 1.500 different species of flowers, Cyprus is a paradise for nature lovers. As the days lengthen and the sun gathers strength, Cyprus enters an idyllic season for walks, leisurely picnics and the fascinating contemplation of nature, not forgetting, of course swimming and sunbathing. SUMMER (May-September) The climate of Cyprus never fails to delight its visitors, and every season has a charm and beauty of its own. In Cyprus’ Summer, sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters beckon swimmers and provide the perfect conditions for sailing, water skiing and all water sports under the sun. Yet a complete contrast awaits in the cool, pine-covered mountains of Troodos, the highest mountain of Cyprus, with delightful hill resorts and traditional hotels. AUTUMN (October–November) As the land mellows in Cyprus’ Autumn, there is a wonderful clarity of air on those balmy days, still warmed by the brilliant Cyprus sun. The sea temperature is still high after the long hot summer, and for some this is the best season of all. The autumn in Cyprus is short and mild, with average daytime temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius. WINTER (December-January) Cyprus’ Winter season brings some much-needed rain to the land, but most of its days are bright and sunny. And there is short snow season on the mountains from December to February, with fun to be had by all ages from tobogganers to serious skiers. During Cuprus’ Winter, one is able to bask on sandy beach and within an hour embark on a skiing adventure in the Troodos mountains.
