Analysis of Hearing Aid Pricing Perception Among Audiologists Using Contract Pricing Data

A study examined the perception of pricing points by 78 audiologists through averaged actual contract pricing data of BTE and custom style hearing aids. The data showed three pricing points with an average percentage difference of 7.5%, highlighting a more significant difference of 15% with BTE style alone. This research contributes to understanding factors influencing hearing aid brand dispensing. The study by Johnson EE delves into determinants of Department of Veterans Affairs hearing aid brand dispensing by individual audiologists.

  1. Figure 2. Perception of pricing points by 78 audiologists is verified with averaged actual contract pricing data of behind-the-ear (BTE) and custom style hearing aids (HAs). Six HAs formed three pricing points separated by average percentage difference of 7.5 percent. More robust difference of15 percent in average pricing was apparent when BTE style only was examined.
