Principle-based Grammar • Structure-building is driven by the need to satisfy grammatical requirementsof lexical heads. • Grammatical theories: Minimalist Program, LFG, HPSG, Categorial Grammar, among others • Parsing theories: Principle-based approach, Constraint-based approach (Gibson 1991, Pritchett 1991, MacDonald et al. 1994, among others)
