I promise on my Honor while I continue a member thereof to obey all the legal orders of the Constituted Authorities of the institute and to discharge all of my duties as a Cadet with regularity and fidelity. REGIMENTAL AND BATTALION SERGEANTS MAJOR • Monitors the Training, Appearance, Conduct, and Discipline of the Corps for the Reg CO/BN COs. • Commands the VMI Color Guard, supervises the Battalion Color Guards • Responsible for the conduct of the GIM Formation/Inspection Platoon • Accountability and Care of all Flags • Gim Formation VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE --- NCO ACADEMY

  27. COLOR NCOs • Color Guard Functions to include posting indoor stands, and posting the colors for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. • Raising and recovery of the National, Virginia, and POW/MIA Flags VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE --- NCO ACADEMY

COMPANY FIRST SERGEANT • Unit admin and accountability • Morning Reports • Maintains the Company Departure Book • Receives all reports at formation, investigates absences, turns in report to Guard Room • Serves as Company recorder for in-ranks inspections VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE --- NCO ACADEMY

  29. COMPANY OPERATIONS SERGEANT • Coordinates all military training and drill • Grades parades and guard mounts as directed VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE --- NCO ACADEMY

  31. PLATOON SERGEANT • Assists PLT Leader and assumes command in their absence • Recorder during in-ranks inspections • Receives accountability report from squad leaders • Sizes and aligns platoon • Assists 1SG and MSG, supervises SLs VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE --- NCO ACADEMY
