How do students know what to do for homework? • Assignments are posted daily on the classroom AGENDA • Assignments are added to their personal assignment sheet and planner • All assignments are posted on the school website www.hlcs.org under my name • Be sure to choose the correct class – 8th grade math or Algebra

  3. How are students going to stay organized? • Each student is required to have a 2-inch (or larger) 3-ring binder for math only • Each student has an assignment sheet in the beginning of their binder • Students write each assignment in their planner • There are three tabs in the binder: • Notes • Homework • Test/Quiz

  4. What is homework bingo? Hadley-Luzerne Homework • If students do all homework and get BINGO – They win a prize. • BINGO numbers are drawn each day that homework is assigned.

  5. Algebra students • Take the NYS Math 8 assessment in April (scientific calculator only) • Take the NYS Algebra Regents in late June (graphing calculator – Ti-Inspire) • Text books are available on line under my.hrw.com – each student has his/her own password (in planner) • Worksheets and notes will be linked on the webpage

  6. Math 8 students • Take the NYS Math 8 assessment in April (scientific calculator only) • Text books are available on line under – www.glencoe.com/oseand the access code is A3B0A7DB98  • Worksheets and notes will be linked on the webpage

  7. AIS math students • Attend class every other day • Three - ring binders and spiral notebooks are provided and stay in the classroom • Students work on current math content as well as specific deficit areas

  8. How can I get information regarding my child’s grades? • Parents may access the parent portal to see your child’s scores on assignments • The following link will give you information on how to use the parent portal: • http://owl.hlcs.org/landing.htm • If you do not know your child’s student ID and/or pin number please call the Middle School at 696-2378
