  12. User Conference October 2012 We said that Deaf people are important to RAD and that we want your feedback so that we can improve our relationships with the Community. You said… www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  13. RAD needs to develop Employment services We have recruited an Employment, Skills and Transition Manager We are now supporting clients in Essex in applying for jobs (and improving “employability”) …Since August 2013 we have supported ten people, two of whom have secured employment! www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  14. RAD needs to develop Employment services We are working with mainstream employment services; as part of the Work Programme. We are providing Deaf Awareness training to employers. www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  15. Deaf people need more “employability” skills, training and development • We have provided workshops and training courses: • Driving theory workshops • CV writing • Job application processes and interview techniques • Access to Work and employment • Presentation skills www.royaldeaf.org.uk

You liked the ‘one click’ video call to the Deaf Law Centre We have renewed our lease for the webcam You asked us to promote the Deaf Law Centre at more Deaf Clubs across the U.K. Clubs we have visited include: Leicester, Derby, Gloucester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Swansea and Caerphilly www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  17. You asked for correspondence from the Deaf Law Centre to be written in plain English We have introduced an internal guide that ensures all of our correspondence is written in plain English. The feedback has been positive. You gave feedback on how quickly the Deaf Law Centre replies to e-mails We remain committed to maintaining regular contact with our clients and ensuring that e-mails are responded to quickly www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  18. The interpreter feedback forms are a pain to fill in! We have had face: face meetings with more clients – and are looking at other ways of making giving feedback easier www.royaldeaf.org.uk

  19. You said that interpreting services in Havering are poor We have met with the Council and are working with them on improving their awareness of Deaf issues – work in progress! www.royaldeaf.org.uk

Services for older Deaf people We will use the money from the sale of our buildings to develop excellent services for older Deaf people Young Deaf need to be a priority We are developing a new Central London Youth Club iPad training We found a Deaf trainer – offered to all Clubs www.royaldeaf.org.uk

Better contact information for Deaf Clubs We now advertise Deaf Club events on the RAD website – and have shared contact details Increase general knowledge New Development Manager will be working will all Clubs to agree programme for talks and debates Follow up day We are here today! www.royaldeaf.org.uk
