Safety In Your Car

By: Alexis Dupuy and Alyssa Chaplain

situation 1
Situation 1
  • You see a hitchhiker on the side of the road. You feel bad for him and you want to help him out. Should you….
    • Bring him where he needs to go
    • Ask if he wants to borrow a phone to call for help
    • Keep driving
slide3

You should keep driving because the hitchhiker may be dangerous. He might take advantage of the fact that you are helping him. Most of the time he doesn’t really need a ride, he just wants to take advantage of you.

situation 2
Situation 2
  • On night you are driving yourself to a party. At the party you decide to have a few drinks, which seemed to make you a little drunk. Should you…
  • Call for a ride from a relative who hasn’t been drinking
  • Let another drunk friend drive you home
  • Get in the car and drive home
slide5

You should call for a ride from a relative who hasn’t been drinking because you should never drive drunk. You should also never get in a car with someone who has been drinking. You are risking your life and the lives of others around you.

situation 3
Situation 3
  • You and your friends are driving to a fair. You are running low on money but you have enough money to pay for a $5 parking spot. This parking spot is in a well-lighted area and populated area. Should you…
  • Go park in a dark hood-like area for free
  • Spend the $5 and have a safe parking spot
  • Park in an illegal parking space
slide7

You should spend the $5 on the parking spot because parking in a dark neighborhood is dangerous. Parking illegally will result in a parking ticket which you will have to eventually pay for. You might as well spend $5 to be safe and to also avoid paying more in the end.
