Functional equivalence between infection of N. benthamiana by wild type Ourmia melon virus (OuMV) and by agroinfiltration of a mix of three A. tumefaciens strains, each transformed with one of the binary plasmids expressing each of the genomic RNA segments. In all panels, Mock=agroinfiltration with pBin61, Agro= infection by agroinfiltration, Virus= infection by mechanical inoculation of sap from N. benthamiana infected with OuMV VE9 isolate. A) systemic symptoms on infected N. benthamiana, 6 days post infection (dpi). B) Northern analysis using RNA1-specific probes (upper panel), or a mix of the RNA2 and RNA3 probes (central panel).
