  1. Eaton software tools xSpiderSoftware tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks

  2. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks Graphically oriented design system for dimensioning of low-voltage networks fitted with Eaton circuit protection equipment. • Design of TN/TT/IT networks of various voltage systems up to 1000 V. • Design of radial as well as meshed networks. • Design of networks supplied from one or more different power supplies. • Possibility to simulate various operating states of the network by disconnecting power sources and loads. • Database of components with transparent tree structure allowing user-defined additions. • All calculations (voltage drops, load distribution, impedance, short circuits) are based on IEC standards. • Export of graphics intoDXF data format. • User-friendly interface. User operation similar to standard CAD systems (AutoCAD). • Stand alone software based on Windows platform.

  3. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks • Voltage drops, load distribution: • Check whether voltage drop does not exceed the user-defined maximum value set locally for every network component. • Check of correct dimensioning of the circuit protection equipment and conductors. Component with error (current in the line is higher than nominal current of c.b.) Switch off c.b. Voltage drop in the node Current in the node

  4. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks • Three-phase short circuit : • Maximal short circuit. • Check of correct dimensioning of the circuit protection equipment and conductors(check of breaking capacity). • Check of whole networkor fault in one node. Ik3p – initial impulse short circuit current Ikm – peak short circuit current Component with error (insufficient breaking capacity)

  5. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks • One-phase short circuit: • Minimal short circuit. • Calculation of disconnection time check of compliance with the requirements of IEC standard. • Check of whole networkor fault in one node. Ttr – disconnection time Node with short-circuit

  6. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks • Discrimination – comparing tripping characteristics. • Demonstrate solution of discriminationproblem between FU3.1 fuse and FA3.1.15 circuit breaker by changing of release settings.

  7. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks Preview of applications:

  8. xSpider Software tool for semi-automatic dimensioning and calculation of low-voltage networks • Solved example: • Reference manual, chapter 25.1, page 176. • How a new network wiring diagram (network topology) is created. • How the basic tools for working with graphics are used. • How the designed network is checked. • Solved in theDEMO-Network.SPI file.

  9. Eaton software tools • A set of programs to support the design of the particular product lines: • xSpider • Programs are available on CD-ROM • Programs are provided for free, including installation and basic training • Licence is provided for a limited period of time (update of programs and databases) • Manuals available in electronic form as PDF files • Technical support for implementation and troubleshooting More information available at the address: Eaton GmbH Scheydgasse 42, A-1215 Wien, Austria Tel.: +43 0 28 53 7 02-0, Fax: +43 0 28 53 7 65 09 xspider@eaton.com http://xspider.moeller.net
