  2. What Causes Earthquakes to occur? Earthquakes are caused when plates squeeze together. They also happen when plates grind together. Earthquakes occur when a plate dives under the other.

  3. What are ways that People Measure the Strength or Severity of Earthquakes? • The severity and strength of earthquakes are measured by a seismometer which traces vibrations in the ground. The creepmeter is also a tool that is used to measure the strength and severity of an earthquake. A small tower called a magnetometer is also used.

  4. What are the locations and dates of famous earthquakes? • One famous earthquake is the M 2.6 of Coachella, on January 5, 2010 California. Another one is the San Francisco earthquake on April 18, 1906. One more famous earthquake is an earthquake in the southeastern tip of Missouri on February 7.

  5. How do Earthquakes Affect People who Live on Earth? • Earthquakes affect people that live on earth because buildings fall apart. Another way earthquakes affect people is they can get injured or killed. Also, things are broken.
