  6. 7-8 Geometric Probability • Probability is a measure of how likely it is that something will occur. • For example, the probability a coin flip will be tails is ½ or 50% • The probability of picking the Powerball Jackpot Numbers is 1/175,223,510

  7. Probability of EventP(event) • Example: A jar contains 5 blue, 8 yellow, and 7 red marbles. If a marble is chosen at random, what is the probability that it is yellow?

  8. Note: Probability must be between 0 and 100% (0 and 1) • Example: Find the probability that a point chosen at random on TR is also on UP
