Take out old clothes and wear them along with disposable gloves. Put on masks and goggles to protect your eyes, mouth and nose from the paint.
Check for imperfections on the surface where you intend to paint and ensure the area is clean and dry. Before spraying rub down the vehicle surface with the aluminium oxide abrasive paper until it is the bare metal visible. Mask off the other areas not to be painted with newspapers or with masking tape.
Apply primer coats at 15-minute intervals such that the area is evenly covered. Hold the can at least at a distance of 25cm. Leave the primer to dry for about 24 hours after which rub down the area with 12oo grit wet and dry paper and blend it smooth. Wash it with warm soapy water and let it dry after rinsing.
