  1. How Long Do Hemorrhoids Last healthreachcares.org/how-long-do-hemorrhoids-last mahima varun November 26, 2021 The duration, cause and treatment for Hemorrhoids Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels that occur around the rectum area or the anus. Also called piles, it can be very painful and cause a lot of discomfort to the person who has these. Maybe, in years past, only a certain percentage of people had it. However, on average, today it is estimated that more than 75% of people around the world suffer from this condition at some point due to modern changes in people’s lifestyles. Generally, the risk is more prevalent in the age group from 45 to 65. What are the symptoms and causes of hemorrhoids? There are two types of hemorrhoids. One is internal, and the other is external. Below is a description of the difference between the two: Internal ones are formed inside the rectum, and cannot be seen from the outside. Patients find they have the condition only when they bleed during excretion. Blood in the stool is a symptom of internal hemorrhoids. External hemorrhoids are formed around the anus tissues. Though, some types of external hemorrhoids may not be seen or felt from the outside, most can be. They can cause so much discomfort and pain that it can even lead to blood clots in the area. This is a condition known as thrombosis which is a very painful condition. 1/3

  2. The main symptom for either of these is bleeding from the anus region. Other symptoms can include: Pain and discomfort while excreting. Burning or itching sensation in the anus region. A visual lump or swelling in this region. How long do these hemorrhoids last? Many people who have doubts about the condition of his or her hemorrhoids duration ask this question. The answer to this question cannot be given in one word because each case may differ from one to the other. Some may be severe while others may not. That means, the length hemorrhoids lasts depends on the condition and the treatment taken for the individual. Severity may be reduced to some extent by preventing extra pressure on the bowel movement. The good news is that, mostly, people feel relief after about two weeks. Mild condition may heal in about a week, but internal hemorrhoids may take up to two months to be completely gone. If thrombosis has occurred, the time taken to heal may be more. During the first time, the healing process will take a less amount of time, but for recurring hemorrhoids, the time will be more. If the condition is mild, then it may disappear on its own in 1-2 weeks after you take certain precautions such as introducing more fibre and fluids to your body along with other simple remedies that can be found at home. If the condition is more severe, then it may take many weeks, or up to two months, for them to go away. If it ever gets this serious, then most such cases will require a doctor’s intervention. Pregnancy hemorrhoidsPregnancy is a period when hemorrhoids can occur in women, and the condition can lead to itching and pain in the anal region. However, after the delivery of the child, there is less pressure on the veins, and the hemorrhoids may shrink on their own. What are the treatments and precautions to prevent lasting hemorrhoids? How Long Does A Hemorrhoid Last? What are the points to be remembered here? Well, if the hemorrhoids are mild ones, and if you do not have any symptoms such as blood during bowel movements or pain, then you can try simple home remedies. But, if the pain is unbearable, too frequent, and if the bleeding continues, then you should see your doctor as soon as possible. Today, there are different and easy treatments available. The main types of major treatments include: 1. Surgery to remove severe hemorrhoids. 2/3

  3. 2. Coagulation which is a method in which laser treatment is used to shrink the swelling. 3. Rubber band ligation. This is nonsurgical, and the method is as simple securing a tight band around the swelling which obstructs fluid supply to the area. This method will suffocate the hemorrhoids, and will prevent them from getting worse. (This is a popular treatment since many people find this as the least expensive, and it is not painful) 4. There is also a method known as sclerotherapy in which a chemical is injected to the hemorrhoid itself which will shrink the swelling. What are some home remedies to treat hemorrhoids? As it is said, prevention is better than a cure, and this is true for hemorrhoids as well. The first thing is to try to prevent the condition in the first place, and the way to do it is by following a healthy diet that involves: Eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid eating junk or processed food. Drink more water and include more fibre in your diet. Probiotic food is good for your bowels. Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol. Take important vitamins and mineral supplements for your missing daily nutrients.. Remember, these home remedies are to be used to ease the pain and lessen the inconvenience. At the same time, if the pain and the discomfort persists or worsens, then it is recommended to Consult your doctor as soon as you can. 3/3
