Welcome to Curriculum Night Mr. Wegley 6th Grade Science
I am Mr. Wegley • This is my 5th year teachings 6th Grade Science. • Before that I work with children for 14 years at the United Methodist Children’s Home.
I am married with 2 kids. Mrs. Wegley (for 21yrs) + Teacher in Worthington The kids Daughter, 16.8 yrs old + Driver, Lifeguard, CC, Lax, Writer Son, 15.5 yrs old + Farm hand, Marching Band, In door percussion, Track, xbox fanatic.

Curriculum • Laboratory Safety • Cells – organelles, mitosis, organization of living things, osmosis, and diffusion
Curriculum • Living systems – symmetry, dissection, and types of tissues
Curriculum • Matter – atoms, elements, compounds, and mixtures • Motion – Potential energy, kinetic energy, force and average speed
Curriculum • Minerals – luster, streak, hardness, magnetism, etc. • Rocks – igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary
Curriculum • Soil – composition, permeability, and porosity
Grading • Points will only come from assessments. (tests, quizzes, projects, and some labs) • Assessments can be retaken within 2 weeks of assessments return and once student have shown they have restudied the material. • I only give extra credit for a student if they participate in the Science Fair.
Homework • Homework is only given when necessary. • Due dates will be given when homework is assigned. • Students will have to make up incomplete homework assignments.
