  1. Sobering Facts: • Every second of every minute, of every hour of every day countless people die, most of whom die lost! Hebrews 9:27. • This bothers: • God, John 3:16. • Jesus Christ, Hebrews 2:9. • The Holy Spirit, Ephesians 3:3-6.

  2. God’s Plan to Save Souls Includes the Church! • To the church the saved were added, Acts 2:47; in the church both Jews and Gentiles are reconciled, Ephesians 2:16 • The church is “the pillar and ground of the truth,” I Timothy 3:15. • Thus it has an important responsibility to the world; its mission being the same as was that of Jesus Christ, Luke 19:10. • No work more urgent than Saving Souls!

  3. “Go Ye Means Go Me!” • Mark 16:15; I Timothy 3:15; 2 Tim. 2:2 • Fact: As members of the church Jesus built, we simply must be involved in the great work of seeking and saving the lost. • Intellectually, we have to recognize the fact just stated! • Practically, many ask “What Can I do?”

  4. What Can I Do? You Can Pray! • I Thessalonians 5:17: “Pray Without Ceasing.” • Luke 18:1: “And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” • Colossians 4:2: “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. • Revelation 5:8: “…fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials of ordours, which are the prayers of…

  5. Pray: • For the Lord to “send forth laborers into His harvest,” Matthew 9:35-38. • For the Lord to open doors of opportu-nity, Colossians 4:2,3; Acts 14:27; I Corinthians 16:8,9; Rev. 3:8 • For preachers of the gospel, Ephesians 6:19,20; Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 4:1,2.

  6. Pray: • For Lost Souls – that they will be receptive to the gospel, Luke 23:34. • For Courage – to mention Jesus Christ to your friends and loved ones, Acts 4:29; Luke 14:23. • For Wisdom, James 1:5-6. • To be “wise as serpents..,” Matthew 10:16 • To know how “we ought to answer every man,” Colossians 4:6.

  7. Attend All Bible Study and Worship Assemblies! • Acts 2:42; 20:7; I Cor. 11:26,33; Hebrews 2:11-12; 10:25. • In the Assemblies, we are able: • To be edified, I Corinthians 14:26. • Teach and admonish, Ephesians 5:19. • To worship God as we ought, and grow as God intended. (1) Regularity in this makes a profound impression upon others for good!

  8. Live Your Life in a manner Consistent with the Gospel! • Titus 1:11-12; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Cor. 7:1; Philippians 2:15. • Fact: If our family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors observe us smoking, taking unfair advantage of others, losing our temper, using foul language, etc. they will decide that if our religion won’t make us what we ought to be, it is not worth their checking into!

  9. Other Things We Can Do • Practice Hospitality, Romans 12:13. • Carry Tracts with us, Eph. 5:15-16. • Greet Visitors in Worship, Matt. 7:12. • Talk to people! Leviticus 21:1; Num. 15:2; 2 Kings 18:19, 2 Chronicles 11:2, etc. • Ultimately our tongue will confess to God, Romans 14:11 • The tongue has great power for good when properly used! Psalm 119:172; I Peter 3:15.

  10. Conclusion: • Surely, if it is important for Christians to share the gospel with others, it is imperative that all accountable people obey the gospel, 2 Thess. 1:7-9! • Question: Have you obeyed the same gospel, in the same way, and for the same reasons as characterized converts in the first century?
