  • Mosquitoes vector many devastating diseases and in many countries (esp. in Africa), pesticides are used frequently to suppress mosquito populations.
  • Class discussion: Despite heavy use of pesticides, why do mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases remain an issue?
  • Group work: Diagram the sequence of likely events that often follow pesticide applications to suppress mosquito populations
