  1. Ničivé zemětřesení v Turecku v srpnu 1999 bylo dobře zaznamenáno na seismických staniciích MFF v Korintském zálivu. Záznam umožnil konstrukci tzv. disperzní křivky, udávající závislost rychlosti šíření seismických vln na jejich periodě. Modelování disperzní křivky poskytlo zpřesněný obraz o stavbě zemské kůry v dané oblasti. • Těsně po ničivém zemětřesení 7. 9. 1999 v Aténách tam vybudovala univerzita v Patrasu síť dočasných seismických stanic, pomocí nichž jsme společně studovali dotřesy, nalezli jsme aktivní zlomovou plochu, určili její hloubku a prostorovou orientaci. Přestože při zemětřesení nevznikly žádné trhliny na zemském povrchu, mohli jsme takto usoudit, kterému z geologických zlomů zemětřesení náleží • .
