Learning Outcomes • Show applicable use of the Symplicitysystem and its use for creating incident reports • Be knowledgeable of the judicial process, and appropriate sanctions • Understand the rights of the student, or student organization in the judicial process • Be knowledgeable of areas of risk associated with student programs, and services • Articulate where to find the risk reduction worksheet, and when it should be completed • Articulate the basics of the philosophy of the judicial process

Help I’ve Been Sanctioned! • If an organization has charges brought against them there is a format that must be followed. • Someone will have submitted an incident report, in most cases it is a fine and EVP will fill it out • The process can be found in the Executive Vice President By-laws
What is the Sanction Process • The president will be contacted via e-mail about the sanction. • They will have 72 hours to respond with a proposal of a time and date of the judicial hearing • If the president doesn’t respond within the 72 hour window, then the organization affirms the charges, with no judicial hearing
What will be on the initial notice? • The notice will have the following: • Description of the violation • Violation number (if applicable) • Times and dates that the EVP is available to meet. • If it is a fine the amount the fine is
The Judicial Hearing • At the judicial meeting the president will have the chance to affirm or negate the charges once again. • The president can present all evidence for their case. • Then the EVP deliberates
The Outcome • There are currently two possible outcomes: • Fine • Community Service
Fines • Once the fine has been assed your organization will have two weeks to pay the fine. • If the fine goes unpaid a penalty fee is added • If the fine is not paid one week after that the organization goes dormant
Community Service • Once determined the organization will have two weeks to submit the name, place, date and location of the community service project to the EVP for approval • At least five members must be present at the project • The project will be between 3-10 hours depending upon the sanction/ judicial history • Can be split between multiple projects • Will have one month or until the end of the semester, whichever comes first • If all paperwork is not handed in by the deadline the organization goes dormant
