  2. Introduction • Skinned, the first book in a trilogy takes place in the future about a teenage girl, Lia Khan. Lia Khan life was perfect she had everything, popularity, money, and a bright future. All that will change when she gets in a car accident, and her mind is put in a computerized human body. She will have to deal with the fact that everything will change.

  3. Protagonist • Auden Heller • He was the only person in her life that seems unconcerned by the fact that she didn’t have a heart beat, and tries to help her to accept herself. He helped her every step of the way.

  4. Antagonist • Lia Khan • Lia is killed in a car accident and her mind is downloaded into a computerize body. She struggles with the idea of being a machine and spends a great deal of the novel wallowing in self-pity, and does nothing about the problem.

  5. Antagonist • ZoieKhan • Zoie is Lia’s younger sister. When Lia returns from the hospital, she finds that her younger sister has taken her place at school. Zoie sets trends, she steals Lia’s friends, and Zoie rubs it in Lia’s face at every turn.

  6. Central Conflict • Where Lia is from, being a skinner is somewhat of a controversy, and when she tries to slot back into her old life, things don’t go very smoothly. Her friends treat her differently. Her boyfriend seems unable to connect with her new machine-self. Even her family, who were responsible for making her a skinner in the first place, have trouble accepting her back into their lives, and everyone else.

  7. Quinn Sharpe • Quinn Sharpe is a skinner. She accepted the fact that she is and tries to help Lia to.

  8. Walker • Lia’s boyfriend. In the beginning he tries to be the same around Lia, but still cant get over the fact that she is a skinner. They eventually broke up, and Lia found out he slept with Zoie when she was in the hospital.

  9. Lia’s Dad • He regrets bringing Lia back, and wishes he didn’t.

  10. Critics • One critic said they didn’t like Lia, and it wasn’t a perfect book and walks on well-trod ground, but Skinned is a worthy read in its own right. She are eagered to read the next book Crashed. • http://thebooksmugglers.com/2009/08/book-review-skinned-by-robin-wasserman.html • Karin said the book is worth reading. Its edified and edgy. The story is powerful and keeps you hooked until the end. She was excited to see that SKINNED is the first book in a planned trilogy. She desperately want to see what happens next in Lia’s complicated existence. • http://www.edifyingandedgy.com/2010/10/skinned-by-robin-wasserman-review.html

  11. My take on the novel • Skinned is a book worth reading. The story plot was very interesting. It kept me hook till the very end. I thought Lia was very winey and the constance self-pity was unnecessary. She should have done something about it.
