  1. Chemistry Lab #4 2C – One in a Million Lab Book Page 28 MasterBlaster info - 300

  2. Job Assignments A reader B aprons C cleanup D cleanup All record Periods 1-3, do not unplug master blasters. Period 4, unplug and wrap with velcro

  3. Page 28 Pre Lab is due tomorrowWork in class today. Page 1 I. Intro V. Procedures (We will do parts 1-6) Page 1 VI. Draw out table 1 and 2 – use rulers to make it neat! If you finish before the bell, check in for check. Study for Quiz on Elements 21-60.

  4. Page 297,298,300 • See above pages in your Lab Book for Master Blaster (Lab Master) use. • We’ll be using the Spectrophotometer to “read” the amount of light that is absorbed by the color present in the solutions. • Skip calculations until after you follow directions in part 3 on page 30 after reading the above pages.

  5. Soln. R G B • 0.99 3.75 3.76 • 0.16 2.60 2.55 • 0.03 0.81 1.02 • 0.00 0.03 0.15

  6. VIII Calculations Conc = volume of substance x 100 total volume Soln #1: 1ml food color x 100 = 10% 10 mL solution Soln #2: 1mL Soln #1 x 10 = 1.0% 10 mL solution Soln #3: 1mL Soln #2 x 1.0 = 0.10% 10 mL solution

  7. Parts Per Million (PPM) Concentration in PPM = Conc. X 1,000,000 SO: PPM = 0.10 x 1,000,000 = 100,000 ppm With prior calculations, complete the tables before you hand in your reports.

  8. Actual Write up – Due on Monday 9/30 Page 1 – IV Data - completed data tables Page 2 VII. Graphs (graph your data on copies I have for you – don’t write in the book & I have RGB markers for you) Page 3 VIII. Calculations – DO NOT do calculations until you have collected all data!!! See page 29 for calcs. Last Page IX. Discussion – Answer Parts 4 & 5 here. X. Conclusion
