Mondi Zimele Overview • Mondi Zimele adds value through making available equity, loans and business development support to empowered and emerging businesses within the Mondi value chain and surrounding communities. • Mondi Zimele`s objectives are to: • Promote sustainable black economic empowerment and the availability of competitive contractors in Mondi’s forestry and mill value chains • Encourage economic development and job creation in our forestry communities • Facilitate the increased availability of sustainable, competitive timber by private growers for Mondi mills (including the development of new emerging community forestry businesses). • Mondi Zimele is supported through a ‘revolving’ fund from Mondi (and more recently DBSA) which is deployed on commercial terms as equity and loans to qualifying Investee companies.
