MISSOURI SOCIETY OF CPAs (MSCPA) Largest & most prominent professional development organization dedicated to CPAs in Missouri MSCPA membership is nearly 10,000 CPAs MSCPA offers education, networking, government advocacy, and a host of other benefit programs One of the most popular programs within the MSCPA is the LEAP Initiative

  3. LEAP LEAD & ENHANCE THE ACCOUNTING PROFESSION MSCPA started the LEAP Initiative in 2001 to help young people understand the rewards of CPA careers.

  4. MSCPA’s goals are accomplished: • through programs within the LEAP Initiative • events put on by the LEAP Initiative

  5. Ambassador Program • Scholarship Program • Student Events • Student Membership • Student Website

  6. PROGRAMS LEAP Ambassador Program • The Ambassador program is the oldest and strongest component of the LEAP Initiative. • Hundreds of CPA volunteers have gone into high schools and colleges to make presentations about CPA careers.

  7. PROGRAMS SCHOLARSHIPS Thousands of dollars are given annually to students pursing their accounting degrees.

  8. SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAMS • High School Students - Earn up to $500 each year in college scholarships • College Students - Earn up to $1,000 each year in college scholarships • MSCPA’s scholarship season is September – January • Judging is done in February • Winners are announced in March • Only MSCPA student members are eligible to apply • All MSCPA student members are sent a link to the online application in September.
