Progress Update on HIT Standards for Clinical Quality Measures - October 2009

This document outlines the progress of the HIT Standards Committee's Clinical Quality Workgroup, led by Dr. Floyd Eisenberg and presented by Dr. Janet Corrigan on October 14, 2009. Key updates include a revised measure grid for meaningful use, the recommendation of a set of 29 clinical quality measures (17 of which can be adapted for EHRs), and insights into privacy and security concerns. The workgroup is collaborating with HHS to refine additional measures, focusing on enhancing workflow processes and developing electronic measure specifications for improved healthcare quality and interoperability.
