  2. HISTORICAL INFLUENCES The American South The American South is extremely underdeveloped and young compared to other cultures and countries, and could accurately be called an isolated culture

  3. HISTORICAL INFLUENCES Turkey’s Diverse Influences Turkey has a very rich history, complete with a variety of influences due to its geographical location at the center of trade for the Middle Eastern world for almost two thousand years.

  4. SOUTHERN FOODS Foods traditionally associated with the American South are comprised of a few main ingredients, such as fried chicken, collard greens, and cheeseburgers.

  5. TURKISH FOODS The basic food elements that make up the core of the average Turkish meal are more varied than that of the American South. Meat, dairy, vegetables, and grains form the basis for the culinary preparations, but are prepared in various ways that create a truly diverse range of resulting meal combinations.

  6. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS • TURKEY • AMERICAN SOUTH Center of trade for the Middle Eastern trade routes for well over 2,000 years. Underdeveloped, young, and isolated compared to other cultures in the world.
