  4. 1. Registration and Login (p.12-14) • User ID: Not case sensitive; must be 6 – 8 alphanumeric characters (may not be changed) • Password: Case-sensitive; must be 6 – 9 alphanumeric characters; must have at least three of the following • Uppercase, Lowercase, Numeric, and/or punctuation • PIN: must be four numeric characters • Hint Q & A: Case sensitive; must select 3 hint questions

Course Groupings (p.27-31) Allows you to group courses by course number or class period Allows you to copy categories and assignments for multiple sections of the same course or multiple course offered during the same period You can only group your courses at the beginning of the semester BEFORE any categories are added.

Assign Categories (p.32-34) • Select the semester and course section and assign categories as defined by SAISD (Student Grading E20 ) • Assignments (60%) • (i.e. journals, labs, projects, classwork, homework, class participation, etc.) • Assessments (40%) • (i.e. examinations, quizzes, projects, etc.)

  7. 4. Create Assignments (p.35-38) You will be able to create and delete assignments AFTER you assign categories for each course.

Mass Activation (p.20-21)Day 1 – 10 of New School Year One-time process for teachers to complete the enrollment of students Teachers will be able to “Activate” students who are Present for the class period Once a student is activated by any teacher, he/she is active for all the remaining periods and teachers will now be able to mark a student Present, Absent, or Tardy. A student who has not shown up to school MUST remain as “Inactive”

  10. 6. Post/View Attendance (p.22-26) • Attendance must be taken daily and for each period. • Official attendance – 10:00 a.m. • All students are set to “Present” by default. • Errors in posting attendance MUST be emailed to attendance clerk (Mr. Wilson) so that they may be corrected.

  11. Account Maintenance (p.17-18) • You WILL be locked out after 3 consecutive failed attempts at signing in. • After 2 failed attempts: Go to “Forget your Password?” • Staff ID: 9 digit employee ID (including preceding 0’s) • User ID • Answers to Hint Questions (case sensitive)

  12. 7. Assignment Grades (p.39-47) • After creating assignments, you will be able to enter assignment grades for students • Grades • Numerical • I – Incomplete • M – Missing (counts as a zero for the assignment grade) • X – Excluded • Comments • Notes • Modifications

  13. 8. Interim Progress Reports (p.52-56) Every 3 weeks Will be printed and distributed by the campus Comments entered into the txGradebook will be included in the Interim Progress Reports Interim Progress Reports can be run by a teacher as needed (i.e. Parent Conference)

  14. 9. Cycle Grades (p.48-51) • Every 9-weeks • Final cycle grades (Review all grades before posting) • Citizenship grades • Comments • Must be electronically submitted “Select courses to mark grades as Ready to Post”

  16. REGISTERING Double click on the State of Texas Icon OR “Click Here” to access the log-in page. Look to the far right under “New User?” click on the word “here.” Type in all applicable information until ALL information has been entered. Click the “next” button. Note: Your staff ID is your employee ID with the two “00” ex: 001234567.

  17. REGISTERING Next the System will ask you to create a User ID, Password, and Hint Questions. (Refer to the Teacher’s Guide, pgs. 12 -14 for info. on creating your User ID, Pin, & Hint Questions). If at anytime you receive a red error message, the information you entered is incorrect. Read the error message and correct the information. Once you’ve entered all the required information click the Finished button. If there are no errors, you will be directed to the gradebook home screen.
