Topics covered • Quantities and units used in • radiation protection. • Interaction of ionizing radiation • with matter. • Radiation detectors and measurements. • Biological effects of ionizing radiation. • Principles of radiation protection; international organisations; regulatory framework. • Assessment of external and internal exposures. • Occupational and public exposures and protection. • Intervention measures in existing and emergency exposure situations.
