BIC Administrators • Overview of Administrative Interactions and Motivational System • Diagnosticians are welcome to attend training with your administrators. • Dates to be announced. • Overview of BoysTown SEM Model Training for all Staff who have BIC on their campus will be morning of December 19th in Board Room - Mandatory

OT, PT, Psych, Nurses, SPED Counselors, AT, MT, Social Work, AU SPECIALISTS Services(in-home training, parent training, social skills training) • Who BILLS under related services? ONLY OT, PT, Psych, Nurse • Where are our logs? On ESPED, under MEDICAID TAB on front page, “Related Services Log (HISD)” • When do I start? Now if….. • What do I need to do?

AI, VI, O and M, SPED counselors, AU specialists, SPED Teachers and Paras, VACS, Job Coaches, MT, and AT, Social Worker • Who BILLS for Personal Care? ALL of the above • Where are your/their logs? On ESPED, under MEDICAID TAB on front page, “Personal Care Services Log (HISD)” • When do I/they start? Now • What do I/they need to do?

  13. SHARS – Personal Care Services Cont’d • IF… Permission in file. PCS supplement in IEP (case-e or ESPED) • Then……. Complete PCS supplement in ESPED to include bottom schedule with same services of ARD. This creates a PCS log for provider.

  14. SHARS – Personal Care Services Cont’d • IF… Permission NOT in file. PCS supplement NOT in IEP (case-e or ESPED) • Then……. Obtain permission Complete Amendment on ESPED with PCS supplement in ESPED, include bottom schedule with same services in ARD. This creates a PCS log for provider.

PBMAS • YISD SPED is now a Stage III • What does that mean? • We have been coded a district with escalated oversight • We have missed 100% compliance for over 6 years • Although we have made great gains from 58% to 99.9% we are still not compliant • RF Tracker data submission was not 100% correct • One student’s record was not submitted on time

  17. PBMAS • What we will do next • Focused student data analysis for students in RF Tracker (approximately 35 files to be reviewed) • Integrated plan with ELL • A core analysis team will review and approve before submission • A comprehensive corrective action plan for achieving 100% compliance

  18. 504/RTI • 504/RTI teams have been trained. • They may ask for help with ESPED. • Refresher will be November 8th.

  19. Progress Reports • Progress Reports go out with reports cards. November1, 6, and 8 • Teachers need to do them on ESPED, if ARD in ESPED. • CLASS goals should have been copied in August. • Teachers are to make copy of Goals and Objectives, document progress, and send home. (Keep copy in file)

  20. STAAR ALT Goal Writing • STAAR ALT Goals and Objectives are to be written as “General” Subject Goal and Essence Statements as Objectives. • These are for STAAR ALT students only

  22. Materials Request • Please use Materials Request Forms • Funds are limited • Petty Cash should be requested 3 weeks in advanced.

LEP Reminders/Update • SPED person must participate in LPAC meetings for SPED students. • Exit criteria will be documented on new form for 2012/2013 school year. • NO SPED/LEP student is exempt from TELPAS • Consider TELPAS levels and STAAR Participation. • Exit form is to be placed in state file at time of exit.

  25. STAAR ALT Update MODULE REQUIREMENTS • New teachers will need to take all 4 modules • Other teachers will need to take only module #1 • Deadlines: November 9th Module 1 • Deadlines: November 30th Modules 1-4 • Strongly recommended to view modules 2-4

STAAR ALT Update Complexity Level Determination • For the 2013 STAAR Alternate administration, either the teacher or the ARD committeecanmake the complexity level decision • For 2013 assessment decisions previously determined, districts DO NOT have to reconvene an ARD meeting to determine the complexity level

  27. STAAR ALT Update Complexity Level Determination • For the 2014 STAAR Alternate administration, the ARD committeemustmake the complexity level decision and record the decision on the “STAAR Alternate Participation Requirements” document

  28. Miscellaneous • AYP worksheets are DUE OCTOBER 31st. • ARD schedules were Due in September. • Temps and/or Temp updates are to be done as soon as possible to guarantee funding. • ALL AU evals must include OT(sensory) and Speech.

  29. Miscellaneous • If eligibility changes after extra testing has been completed… • FIE has to be re-written to reflect new data and changes in eligibility • SAVE all FIEs to memory stick. • NO SPED student is exempt from State Assessments. (STAAR, TELPAS, TPRI, etc.)

  30. ESPED Updates and Questions • Discontinuing a Related or Instructional Service without formal assessment. Write dismissal summary on screen, “Review of Evaluation and Additional Evaluation” on bottom on little dilibs page. Document again on screen, “Review of Committee Decisions”

  31. ESPED Updates and Questions • Dismissing Students from Special Education without Formal Assessment Complete a REED. Write a Summary for Areas related to the SPED services student is receiving If parent agrees, do DNQ packet.

  32. ESPED Updates and Questions • Creating Rosters On ESPED Click on- Admin-ARD Reports on front screen Highlight – Eligible Disabled Students Click on Box – School Enter school from dropdown Click on Box – Record Status, choose “active”
